Poker Secrets - Bluff Without Getting Caught!

When playing Online Poker, it may feel safe to only play hands when the good cards come your way. However, in some games you may never get dealt the pair of aces so it may be prudent to hone your bluffing strategies. If you do it right, there are secrets to bluffing without getting caught.

When you do decide to bluff, a great secret is to not bet the minimum bet amount. Chasers will stay in the hand if it is cheap to see if they can catch their card and hopeful players will want to see if their pair of nines holds up. You want to make a formidable bet that will scare away the even the loosest players. If you make a good sized bet at a small pot, other players are likely to give it to you and those small pots do add up!

Establish a reputation at the table for only playing good hands then, when you do take a stab at bluffing, no one will be the wiser. You can do this by always betting the same amount. For example, if the minimum bet is 50 chips, start your bet with 80 chips regardless of if you are playing good cards or bluffing. Then, increase your bet incrementally after the turn and river. It is easy to notice bluffers who always initiate a bet but do it with a minimum bet. Loose players will always call them and one of them usually hits and captures the pot. It you choose to play a hand, whether or not you have the nut cards, play it like you mean it.

Another secret when you Play Poker is to bluff when fewer people are in the hand. The more people there are, the greater the chances that one of them will get a decent hand by the river. It is also best to bluff the stronger players. Loose players want to gamble and hope for a miracle and sometimes they get it. Stronger players are less likely to chase down a hand if they see someone else making a bold move at it.

Playing at tables with higher stakes is also beneficial if you plan to bluff. If you are playing a penny table, a dollar bet may look impressive but it may not be enough to scare away your opponents. Generally speaking, a Poker Game at the lower stakes tables tends to draw looser players.
